Introduction
In Lothro, its inhabitants search long, hard years for a being they can truly love and settle down with, but the laws of 'love' are harsh and inhumane, cast by witches and wizards long ago to restrict the population, leaving each race a burden to bear that practically inhibits them from finding a mate.
Shapeshifters cannot have any relations with those not of their own kind. A simple kiss would kill a creature from another race. (And shapeshifters are so few in number)
Werewolves shift into their 'natural' forms when they smell copious amounts of blood, massacring all in sight until it is sated. They have no self restraint- often kill their intended on sight.
Vampires have a heightened urge to drink from the one they love- a painful experience that drives many to the brink of insanity if they are not strong.
Angels are disowned and have their wings hacked off if their feathers turn grey, a sign that they are 'impure' and have had sexual relations- a sight that usually has people running in the other direction.
Mermaids are resigned to the sea and often drown their beloved on accident. (Mermaids can only pro-create with beings of the land)
Male on male pairings in Lothro are few, but they occur, and even though these males cannot breed, the laws still heavily apply to them.
Inter-race relationships are entirely frowned upon, are taboo, but in rare cases they happen, though are kept secret.

Lucien grimaced upon seeing his ravaged back, his gaze hardening and hands balling into fits by his side as his childhood upbringing and ingrained angel customs fought against the side of him that had developed during his long years of travelling, the side that did not judge. He struggled against the urge scrub his hands raw from merely thinking about touching, aiding the tainted. Slipping his fingers around the pulse point in the wrist of the former angel when he recognized the twitching, he ordered, "Don't worry. Stop panicking." to both of them, as they both seemed to so desperately need it. Swallowing heavily, Luce pulled away, unfurling the bandages silently, beginning to wrap and tie them around the angels chest and back, with especially careful precision regarding the bones that had been hacked mercilessly into. This was not a fate he ever wanted for himself, and had been part of the reason he had run from his own race and their laws in the first place.
Dorian's mind blanked for a few moments after the other angel hadn't ran away or attempted to kill him. How was he, Dorian, supposed to react the a angel, who's wings hadn't been ripped off, helping him? "Why are you helping me? It is clear that everyone else of our race hates me." Dorian supposed that asking this question was a easy place to start, after all any other angel that had seen his back ran for the hills or spat on him for even existing. He clenched his jaw to where it was almost painful as the memories as to why he was cast away resurfaced, it was never his fault and why no one believed him, why even his parents tossed him aside, was beyond Dorian.
Lucien persisted with the tending of the wounds, mind calculating a reasonable and truthful response. "I've lived too long away from angels, I think," he began, "I've created my own ideas and ideals about the world, not ones that are forced upon our kind. Personally, I believe their laws are feral and harsh. So this doesn't bother me like it should," He explained, lowly, tucking the end strand in against the tight crossings of material before it. He was rightfully satisfied by his handiwork.
"Don't get me wrong, I still have the instinct to haul you out to a window and shove you through it. But its masked and faded." He smiled, because he was partly joking, though the upturn of his lips was cold, lacking any warmth or humour, but that barely mattered as the other angel missed the gesture with his back being turned to Luce.
"The name is Lucien, by the way," He added, digging his hands into the deep pockets of his trousers now that he did not know what to do with them.
"Don't get me wrong, I still have the instinct to haul you out to a window and shove you through it. But its masked and faded." Dorian understood the hole being away from angels deal. So long as you stayed away from the angels human morals started to rub off on you. Dorian found that humans seamed more willing to listen. "With all do respect, Lucian, if you did attempt to throw me out the window I would have your wings pined in a matter of seconds. I find that this works quite effectively against angels that want to kill me. At least they leave me alone afterwards." Dorian partly joked back to Lucian, after all Dorian told the truth. Dorian moved his arms slowly testing the bandages that Lucian wrapped to make sure they wouldn't fall off in the night or tomorrows events if there be any. After deeming the bandages fit, Dorian walked over to his stuff he had left on the toilet. He pulled out his little pouch and pulled out a rather loose sweater, a sliver cross (blessed by a priest that helped him when he was first banished from the angels) and of course on of his precious guns. This one had a cross etched into, and silver bullets with crosses in them as well. All of this he had blessed. He slipped it into his belt and left the safety on. He turned to face Lucian while he pulled on his sweater and cross. "I apologies for being rude. It's not every day I meet a angel willing to help me let alone fight all urges to kill me. My name is Dorian, Dorian Gray."
Lucien's eyebrows rose at the statement, intrigued and surprised, though his white wings subconsciously retreated to a safe, folded position behind him. Luce watched the pull and tug of the tough fabric closely, checking for tears or a slip of a tie, but was pleased to notice the bandages held firm. It was expected as he had worked briefly with a witch doctor (after which his skills had improved exponentially) and anything short of what he had achieved would be embarrassing, and not to mention unfortunate for all involved in the vampire debacle. Seeing the pouch jutted his memory, and Lucien recalled his own pack that remained down below in the pub, and remembered also his lack of coin (he would need a job here in the village for awhile, he decided) - A thought that went straight to the recesses of his mind when he eyed the guns, at which he inwardly cringed. But he relaxed and hid his reaction when the weapons were positioned at the angels hip.
Luce gave a forced smile, "It's not every day I meet an angel whose had their wings...well...you know. Its all I can do," He shrugged.

"Don't force your self to smile." Was a automatic from Dorian, he never understood why people would smile when there was nothing to smile about. "As for the bandages, thank you. Nothing will ever heal these wounds or grow my wings back. It's a bit of a curse on our race as it seams. I just keep the bandages so that I don't bleed over every thing." Dorian picked up his cloak and stuffed his little pouch into one of the inside pockets before slipping it on as well. He huffed slightly, Dorian would have to get a different room to spend the night in. He had no intentions of spending the night with two potently murderous vampires. He would seal this rooms windows and door before he left. He had no interest in killing vampires OR having said vampires go crazy and kill a whack load of people. Dorian would need to ether leave or find a job to pay him, but their wasn't much in a small town he could do.
The flicker of the fake smile that was left disappeared, and Lucien hurried to apologize, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was doing it. Habit, I guess. Most people can't tell I don't mean it,,". But when he received the 'thank you', he attempted a real smile, the edges of his lips tweaking up lopsidedly. Luce nodded at the rest, adding "I understand," Because he honestly did, even if the prospect of having it happen to him terrified him.

Dorian looked into the other room with the vampires. "I have no intention of remaining in the same room as two vampires while I have open wounds on my back. It would result in someones death." Dorian again contemplated locking both vampires in the room for safety measures, but decided not to, he would just seal off his room from the rest of the world. Dorian muttered under his breath curses at him self for purchasing a room for the vampire that was now almost completely recovered. Now he had to get him self a room, and that would mean that Dorian would have to find work. Dorian didn't happen to be any good at basic life needs. He had no skills as a black smith, weaver or even a artist. Dorian, for the most part, was good at killing things. He supposed that he could go into the wood and hunt some meat for the local butcher, but he wasn't sure how much deer meat sold for here, or if the people ate it at all. He was seriously thinking about leaving the town after tonight, but it would all lead to if he could find work in the morning. "I will come down stairs with you, I my self need a room and I wont share with vampires for safety reasons."
Lucien skimmed through the various dangers of becoming cooped up in a small space with not one, but two vampires, thirsty for any blood they could get their hands on. "Yes, I see. It would not end well," He agreed, running his fingers through his hair in a worried, swift motion. No offence intended to the two, but he would be requesting a room on the other side of the inn, to secure his own safety.
Lucien hummed his understanding, slinking from the bathroom with all the stealth he could muster with bulky wings protruding no matter how tight he folded them. Squeezing through the room doorway and disappearing into the hallway, he made his way down the wooden stairs entering ,once again, the alcohol laden main hallway. Collecting his things from the shadowy, forgotten corner, Luce fished out his few coins, which he used to pay from his meal and a room.
