NOT AN OPEN ROLEPLAY.

It happened in the year 2666, the event now known to us as the Great Sundering. The day in which the first dark gate opened into the void and the unholy demon spawn slithered forth to corrupt our world. Armies poured into our lands from the darkest reaches of the universe to pillage and burn unto the ruin of the earth. It was as the prophets of our order had foretold....

For centuries we have kept our vigil over humanity, we who have responded to the light's call, the brethren of the Melchizidine Order. And were it not for us, the world would have burned long ago. We were nonetheless powerless to halt the demon hordes in their relentless march and much of the planet was lost to them. Nations fell, people of all classes were cut down in the streets, and they were the lucky ones. For those poor souls who survived to be captured, a fate too terrible for words was visited upon them.

We managed to slow them eventually, to set up places of power, fortresses and walled cities to defend ourselves and now we are at a stand still. The demons continue to press in around us, though it seems their pace has slacked as though they would simply allow time and their constant presence to destroy us. I do not dissagree with them, our destruction seems but a delayed thing, and eventually we will fall, the last of the free cities and the great fortress of Zion's Mount. But until that day, we fight. We fight as men who have courted death and fear it not. As men without a recourse and who have lost everything but their lives. We fight with a fury that has not been witnessed of demons nor angels that we may do so to spite our enemies.

We fight to the bitter end..... And they will bleed for what they have done.
